The North Bay Newspaper Guild was established in 1989 and celebrated it’s 20th anniversary last year. We represent approximately 70 full time and part time employees at the North Bay Nugget, a daily newspaper in the Sun Media Division of Quebecor Inc.
We are currently bargaining a collective agreement with the employer making wholesale changes to the benefit package, offering little in return and inserting uncomfortable language. More than a dozen people were laid off since the last contract was signed in 2006.
